Ready Seal is an oil-based, semitransparent stain and sealer in one. It is a proprietary blend of some of the finest oils in the industry, quality resins, and finely ground pigments that penetrate deeply to protect and preserve wood from the elements. There is no linseed oil, which has been known to promote algae and mildew growth.
Ready Seal stains enhance the beauty of wood by reacting with its natural characteristics, and allowing the texture and grain of the wood to remain visible. Ready Seal can be used on all wood types, and is ideal for decks, fences, pergolas, gazebos, cedar siding, log homes, wooden garage doors, children's play sets, and other outdoor wooden structures.
Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature restrictions does Ready Seal have? There are no temperature restrictions. Ready Seal can be applied in any temperature, as well as in direct sunlight.
Can I stain today if it's supposed to rain tomorrow? Yes, as long as the wood is completely dry prior to staining, you can stain today, and it can rain within hours and the Ready Seal will not wash away.
How long does Ready Seal take to dry? You can walk on the deck while you are staining- it absorbs into the wood, self-levels, and there is no risk of leaving footprints on it. If wood preparation and moisture protocols are followed, the wood will dry quickly (within hours). Once dry, it will take up to 14 days to fully cure and reach its final tone.
Is Ready Seal safe to use on picnic tables or children's swing sets? Ready Seal has no carcinogens, and when it dries, your substrate (deck, picnic table, children's play set, outdoor furniture) will be suitable for normal use.
